Understanding The Various Kinds of Fans In the Market.

It is important to understand that fans do not only eliminate heat but also climbing temperatures. The fans alleviate high temperatures by moving warm air towards the attic while still creating a wind chill effect.
Air conditioners are not known to be very energy efficient. Far from any other appliance in the home, air conditioners no matter how technologically advanced, they tend to consume huge amounts of energy. According to recent research, around 20% Kilowatt of energy each year is consumed by air conditioners. Fans use the same amount of energy as that used to light a bulb. The fan is able to bring down the temperatures of the room to about 18 to 10 degrees lower. Fans also serve to add some little style and color to your office or room when installed. This is because the ceiling styles and fans have come a very long way.

What to look for when buying a Ceiling Fan.
Price disparity cannot really tell you why a particular fan is more expensive than the other. Part if it may have to do with style and appearance, but beyond that the quality of the higher priced fans are generally superior. Quality superior fans pay attention to blade angle, use higher quality internal components and are better engineered. On the other hand, cheap fans have a very short lifespan. A wobbling fan generally wears out fast.

The other difference is that a cheap fan will move very little air as compared to the expensive counterparts. Ideal blade angle for a traditional ceiling fan is 12-16 degrees. Most cheap fans have a blade angle of 10 degrees or less.

Where to place fans
if one has decided to purchase a traditional fan, then it has to be placed at the centre of the room. Fan blades should be 7-8 feet from the floor for optimum air circulation. If the ceiling is low, low profile fans should be bought while on the other hand if the ceiling is high, a high profile fan should be hang.

Directional fans are the recent technological development of the fan system and they are placed at a specific point in the room. Some directional fans swivel to cool a greater area. They are an improved version of the traditional fans as they have more powerful motor and blades and move more air. Additionally it is important to note that, the directional fans can be a very good supplement to that that already has a traditional fan fitted on it.

The rotational fan is the other kind of a fan that is a hybrid of the other two types. The fan is ceiling mounted like a traditional fan, but in place of fan blades a horizontal stem is attached to directional fans on either end.
